About Eva

 

Eva Helland was born on November 24th. She spent a majority of her youth in the United States and Mexico. She has been happily married for 35 years. She and her husband have two adult children, both boys, and two daughters-in-law. They are also blessed to have four grandchildren. Eva finds that her grandchildren often give her inspiration for her sculpts.

 

Eva loves sculpting and spends a great deal of her time doing it, but she also enjoys doing other things. She takes time out to go for walks in the mountains and around the lakes by her home in Colorado. Eva also enjoys working in her garden with her husband, watching hummingbirds, and spending time with her grandchildren.

When Eva was nine years old she caught a hummingbird in her hand. Since that day, Eva has thought of the hummingbird as her spiritual bird and often times sends her Collector’s hummingbirds as gifts for birthdays. She also enjoys a good piece of chocolate and often shares this indulgence with Collector’s as well.

 

Eva loves to meet and get to know her collectors and often surprises them with a phone call to discuss recent orders. She attended Expo 2004, 2005, and 2006 in Washington D.C and a few IDEX shows. Beginning in 2007, Eva decided to no longer attend shows as a participant, but has attended them as a visitor, allowing her to spend more time with collectors and less time behind a table. She looks forward to meeting more of her collectors in the future.

 

Eva is good friends with fellow doll artist Lorna Miller-Sands. After recognizing that they shared many of the same collectors, they decided to merge their individual Collectors’ Club Forums into a single Baby Heaven. Baby Heaven was launched in February of 2008.

 

Eva is the President of Helland Enterprises, Inc., the parent company of Eva Helland Originals. Helland Enterprises, Inc. was established in 2004 by Eva and her family, and is a family run business. Eva sculpts and produces all the dolls herself with the help of a few independent contractors, who pour silicone and resin and create outfits. Her daughters-in-law help with various aspects of the company as do both of her sons.
